Russia's Deadline for Ukrainian Soldiers to Surrender in Mariupol Passes
CBC News discusses the situation in the city of Mariupol. The band of fighters who remain in the city are cut off from reinforcements, food and weapons.
Mariupol mercenaries of AZOV militants may try to leave through civilian corridor in disguised form, for which Mr. Zelensky is on the outcry. Mr. Zelensky is discussing the matter with different world leaders.
ALL the action from the 24 of February was and is at the South-East part of Ukraine. Russia has taken or have under siege: Luhansk, Kharkov, Donestsk, Vonovakha, Melitopol, Dinopro, Berdyans'k Kherson, Krakiv and now Mariupol. That is a HUGE territory at the South-East and is not going back to Ukraine.
Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine who like several other nations and regions have been the victims of geopolitical struggles mostly instigated by a FEW SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS who think peace is not good for business nor have any principle to follow, except the proverbial, the end justifies the means, the end being their EXCLUSIVE interests systematically sugar-coated with the lofty ideals of human rights and democracy.
The Seige of Mariupol might be a tactical victory for Russia, but it will be a strategic victory for Ukraine. Ukrainian troops tied down a bunch of Russian troops that could have been used anywhere else. This has bought Ukraine time to defend against attacks in the South and will help in the counteroffensive where Ukraine will ultimately take Mariupol back. Russia has lost manpower and supplies that will limit its offensive capabilities.
The Russian general said theres 1000 mercenaries from the states with 1 canadian and 500 from Romania in Mariupol, cant even get the basics right, watch Wion News instead.
Strategically, Mariupol is already lost battle space. These courageous troops are isolated and largely combat ineffective due to a lack of supplies and troop strength. This hold out is now a political matter. The last stand they are making is inspiring and is history in the making for sure. BUT if these troops ultimately surrender, lets keep in mind they served and did their duty to the utmost. Its a heroic notion to beat the drum and wave the black banner- "to the last man & last bullet", but capitulation has been utilized by western european armies as well as north american armies in past conflicts. These surrounded soldiers have famalies. If they do decide to capitulate in the days to come, it is okay and not for anyone to judge their personal decision to do so. They are owed a debt of gratitude. Bless them all.
I think a lot of us would soon send the same gift to Putin in the form of the same verbiage used by that killer. This, however is directed to any and all military targets in and around Moscow! Ever hear of our giant Bunker Buster?
I feel so bad for everyone involved in the conflict... It's time for talks and peace... Zelinski needs to be a man and accept the fact... These men are laying there lives on the line... As well as the citizens..
Kenny Rogers: "You got to know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run"! Zelensky may be brave, but he definitely is not wise! If you cannot win, then bow down to save the Ukrainian people.
