'I Did Not Expect Putin To Be As Evil As He Has Been' Says McFaul
Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul reacts to Vladimir Putin honoring the military unit accused of committing the Bucha atrocities, and Russia stepping up their attacks in eastern Ukraine.
I feel terrible for the elderly who could not evacuate, but I am SO THANKFUL the children are mostly OUT of Ukraine. The future may be possible. We should do everything we can for those children. The trauma they are experiencing is life altering.
There's something about witnessing an injustice that awakens a fire inside you no matter what part of the planet you live in. Much respect to Ukraine.
I dont know how you wouldn’t think that things would be different when a drop in the bucket….throw a bucket of water on a fire….disgusted…and my heart breaks for the children with no parents
Having lived and worked in Ukraine five times in my life, I too feel very sad for my Ukrainian friends there. I worked at the US Embassy in Kiev for one year. Then, I later worked four times as an English Teacher in Kyiv, Donetsk, and Odessa for another year. I taught over 100 students during these times including a youth summer camp in Odessa in 2015. Now, my fellow colleagues and students in Ukraine are fighting and probably dying in this cruel and evil war in Ukraine. Yes, Mr. Putin is evil. My heart hurts when I see the death and destruction in Ukrainian cities. I wish I could do more to help Ukraine.
I love and respect Nicolle Wallace each time she reports and this is a fantastic honest interview.... I wish I could do more too. I feel deep down in my heart we can just like Zelensky said, Putin will not stop because he's getting away with it now. He's laughing at the West and doesn't care about the consequences. He needs to be stopped by any means necessary and like LAST WEEK!!!
As an American, I can only hope that all the talk about sending Ukraine weapons has been done, in the hands of the Ukrainians. If not, shame on us. Imagine you are drowning in the ocean and a nearby ship discusses throwing you a life jacket. The person in the water needs it now, not after the person sinks to the bottom.
The brutality of this war on innocent Ukrainians is heartbreaking, yet they continue to stand and fight in the face of such evil. I have great admiration and respect for these people, and I continue to pray for their safety and an end to this war. 🙏
That was the most impressive interview I've ever seen. It felt as real as though you were both standing right in front of me. Thank you both for your honesty and integrity. The messages you send out to the world about Ukraine are incredibly important.
