Fareed Zakaria: We Must Stop Putin's Plan B
As Russia refocuses its war on Ukraine's east and south, CNN's Fareed Zakaria argues it will take much more military assistance from the West to ensure that Russia does not succeed in crippling Ukraine.
Thank you for not letting people forget that this isn't a bad dream. It's not close to over no matter how much people try to hide from this and pretend that life is just returning to normal.
Negotiations with Putin are a waste of invaluable time. Therefore, Ukraine urgently needs to provide heavy types of offensive weapons (combat aircraft and attack helicopters, tanks, armored personnel carriers, anti-ship missiles, long-range howitzers, radars against artillery batteries) so that Ukrainians can defeat the Russian occupation forces as soon as possible and expel their remnants back to Russia.
Ukrainians are now defending not only themselves and their homeland, but also the whole of Europe, since the seizure of Ukraine is only the first stage of Russia's plans to seize all European countries!
Ukrania will get rebuilt and will get one of the most modern countries, with the best advanced production lines. And therefore the Ukranians will experience an economic miracle and Russia will experience a total desaster.
I love the charity work CNN does constantly gives money to retirees and ex employees of the goverment and military that need a helping hand to get them through this war.
This constantly repeated gas income of 300 billion dollars a year cannot regenerate a two decade long deteriation of their war production, maintenance shortages, logistic problems and militery knowledge. These things take years and years to create.
I wouldn't be surprised if this gas income covers the basics of "food and rent" for the russian state. Considering the whole country is on a massive decline in everything economy.
